Working from the bottom up on state and federal issues, the Roundtable has helped organize and mobilize efforts on voter registration and information, education issues, tax reform, health care and life issues, civil rights and religious liberties, national defense, energy policies, term limits, and more.
The Roundtable has also battled to preserve the integrity of Constitutional law by engaging in successful strategic litigation against several seated Governors. The same was true of the Senate President. People knew this was a portal for corruption. Term limits broke up that syndrome. Today, the leadership of the House and Senate are open to new members. No single personality can dominate the Statehouse for a lifetime. All the terrible predictions about term limits did not come true.
The law did not throw everyone out of office at the same time. The law still permits politicians to come back and run after sitting out four years. Voters can still move a good lawmaker to a different spot in the Legislature and keep them in office.
